WDSL Fixed Wireless Support Information

Congratulations on your selection of fixed wireless for Internet connectivity. As many of our customers have discovered, fixed wireless from Altazip is simply the best in its class for price comparison in reliability and speed. Fixed wireless although very reliable may need the user to perform a couple simple tasks should their connection suddenly stop working.

The equipment that has been installed is very reliable but like all electronics may require a power reset. This is done very easily by unplugging the power adapter that plugs into the cable that runs outside your home (This power adapter should have a green light to indicate that it is in fact operating.). Simply unplug the power for 20 seconds and then plug the power supply back into the wall. after a couple of minutes your internet connection should be back and operational again.

Many customers may desire to have a router or wireless router to share their Internet connection with multiple PC's within the home. There is usually nothing wrong with doing this except that the consumer grade routers typically sold at a big box and other stores are built with low quality components in order to keep costs down. These routers are usually notorious for their requirement to be reset every week or more.

Weather should not effect your Internet connection. Only under the most extreme wind conditions where the wind has physically moved the dish which will require a service tech to come out and re-aim the dish. These are also the same type of winds that will remove shingles from your roof. Rain will rarely ever cause your Internet connection to fail. Test have shown that up to 1/2" in 15minutes will not knock down the connection.

Our experience has shown that in most cases where there is not a customer owned router installed, Internet problems usually boil down to the customers computer. Usually bad firewall settings, virus, unplugged network cable, etc. These are sometimes fixed with a system restore but sometimes require a computer repair technicians skills to fix for you.
